Being truely western isnt what we put on, so much as its whats inside. The way we look at things. The way we feel about things.The work we do and the friends we keep. Honest and hardworking. Where men still tip their hats..doors opened for gals and a handshake is still valued.
Cowboys... horses... cattle... wide open ranges... the coyote howlin in the night... songs and stories around the campfire... There are places where all these things are still alive and well. They arent just in books and movies.
The country life isnt a easy life. Once you've chosen this way or grew up being a country kid. It gets in your blood and there is no turning back. You know what they say.. "You can take the kid outta the country but you cant take the country outta the kid!" How true. I at one time tried that .. didnt work.
